Dresses For Race Days

During the racing season, a certain standard of dress is expected.  Our aim is not to meet these expectations but to exceed them. A classic dress, complete with appropriate hat or fascinator can turn a beautiful dress into an outfit that stands out from the crowd. Remember, a race day can be a long day so be wary of over tight clothes, shoes or headbands that can become instruments of personal torture in the later hours of the day.

A midi length dress is perfect for race day, anything longer would cause no end of problems when walking around. Pay attention to the weather as a windy day could influence your choice of headwear, sometimes it is better to have a hat AND a fascinator to choose on the big day. You don't want to have to hold onto your hat all day if you’re outside.

Go for a wedge or chunky heel, or a pretty flat, the grass can be a tricky place for stiletto heels!

Raceday To Do List:
The week leading up
 
  • Book eyelash extensions, any waxing and fake tanning well in advance!
  • Confirm travel arrangements
  • Make sure your outfit is freshly pressed
  • Do you have all required accessories , earrings, necklace, belt, clutch, etc? If not then head over to Park Avenue Fashions for some last minute help and advice
  • Shine up your clutch and ensure the bottoms of your heels are clean.
The morning
 
  • Start on hair and makeup early for a stress-free morning.
  • Get your entire ensemble together and lay it on your bed. Take a picture to tease your friends on social media.
The day
 
  • Arrive on time to the track, it's simply not fashionable to be late nowadays.
  • Enjoy the day with your glamorous friends and family.

*A service we provide is viewing in your own home.  We will bring all the clothes we have in your size and you can try them on in the comfort of your own home.

We have shut our premises at Lincoln Road and are selling on line or by appointment.  I am available to either bring clothes to you or you are welcome to come to my showroom.  I will work round your schedules to make it as easy as possible.
